The partners opened on the 8th December 1997 after having all worked together in Peter Hicks practice in Dyer Street for many years. Our continued success is down to our belief in high professional standards of care and accuracy, tempered with a happy and cordial practice environment. Utilising the best ophthalmic lens products from Essilor and our extensive choice of high quality and unusual fashion frames, often credited as being the best selection in the area.
The four partners of Philip Kersey and Partners have collectively been involved with looking after the eye-care of Cirencester and the surrounding area for over thirty years.
Qualified Dispensing Optician, Philip Kersey, with 55 years of experience, works alongside two other qualified Dispensing Opticians, Gwen Hughes, who has been with the practice for over 15 years, and Robyn James who joined the practice nearly three years ago. Between the three of them the practice has full dispensing cover Monday to Saturday.
Qualified Optometrist Andrew Rhys Evans works at the practice Tuesdays and also Thursday mornings. His colleagues cover the other days.
Penny Cashman, Optometrist, works 2 Wednesdays, 2 Friday mornings and 3 Saturdays a month and Sarah Johnson, Optometrist, works 2 Wednesdays and 1 Saturday a month.
Rosy MacLauchlan and Claire May are founding partners of the company and deal with the reception and also the paperwork involved for the VAT etc. They are assisted on the front desk by Lin Jones, who has been with the practice for over 12 years and Sarah Richings who joined the company in 2015.
We are situated in Dyer Street in a beautifully restored Jacobean town house with exposed beams and Cotswold stone interior, which offers a perfectly relaxed yet professional setting.
To achieve harmony between the clinical requirements and the need for a comfortable environment, restored antique retail furniture has been used to create a charming, efficient yet friendly atmosphere. However, the consulting room is equipped to the highest modern standard including an Ocular Coherent Tomography machine (retinal 3D screening), a Tonometer to measure the internal pressure of the eye, a Field Screener to measure visual fields. Also additional instruments to measure and fit contact lenses.
The essence of being independent means the freedom to offer the widest choice, an extensive presentation of beautiful frames and sunglasses. We recognise that quality and ‘leading brands’ are never inexpensive.; however our prices are structured to offer excellent service and value for money.
